Hermann Klemeyer

Prof. Hermann Klemeyer studied at the Hochschule fuer Musik in Berlin and Freiburg. His teachers were Prof. Fritz Demmler (Berlin), Aurele Nicolet(Freiburg) and Marcel Moise (Summer camps).
At the age of 24, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra engaged him as principal flutist. From 1968 to 1976 he was principal flutist of the State Philharmonic Orchestra in Bremen.
He later became principal player with the Bayarian State Opera in Munich, performing with some of the most celebrated conductors of our time.

Since 1983 he has been conducting flute classes at the Hochshule fuer Musik in Muenchen and was awarded a Flute Professorship at the Hochschule fuer Musik Wuerzburg in 1994. He has toured in America, South Africa, China and Japan.
He has taken part in numerous television and radio performances and record and CD recordings. Hermann Klemeyer gives his keenest attention to chamber music and the music of contemporary composers.

During his career he has been - and still is - member of many different ensembles. Some of them are; The Klemeyer Trio, the Wind Quintett of the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Proteus Ensemble (Bremen), the Residenz - Quintet Muenchen, The "Ensemble Music of our Time, Wuerzburg", the Munich Wind Academy and the Woodwind-Quintet "PROFIVE".
